If you see something on here for sale and aren't interested in buying it, do NOT comment on it.
If you are negotiating price, simply contact the seller via PM and discuss it. If you find the price is too high, move on. Commenting that the seller is out of their mind isn't going to help anyone.
Posts that do not pertain to the purchase or sale of an item will be deleted.
I normally abide by this rule... but it really bothers me when a "member's" ONLY POST is trying to sell their bike for way more than blue book value... so I did "break" this rule!!!

OMG ... I was a little put off by that recent thread and almost went on a rant.
At the last minute I decided it wouldn't help, so I am glad to see your post here to remind us of what's expected.
Good points were made but should have been made in PM during negotiating an actual purchase price because you actually want to buy.
Unless a seller is soliciting for opinions .... simply bypass the post if it's not for you.
Just as new users come to list their bikes for sale, new users join to ask "What should I look for in a used YZF600R?"
It is in those threads that you should share your knowledge and experience subjective or objective.

Again ... good points made (as a buyer I'd want to know).. just that a member's "For Sale" thread was not the place for them.
I'm the guiltiest party, here.
Part of me wanted to educate the seller about a quick sale versus holding out for more money.
Part of me wanted to warn buyers about about paying a high premium for low mileage, even if it's to their detriment.
Part of me was disgruntled because I wanted to buy the bike and my offer was rejected
All in all, she held out for more money and she got it; good for her. It only takes one sucker with money to buy a bike for too much... I should know, as I resold both of my first two bikes for more than I paid for them, after riding them for a year or two. As a seller, I applaud her for making a great sale. As a buyer, I dislike her for driving up prices. Soon, as an owner, I won't really care what she did with her bike, since I'll be out riding MY bike
Thesnowgod, thank you for the gentle reminder of etiquette and rules... I WAS out of line for a for-sale thread and I shouldn't have posted most of the stuff I did. ESPECIALLY since they were MY first few posts on the forum, too (a couple years is a long time to lurk, though!).
I'll clean up my act from here on out
