Question related to fork overhaul..
#1
So..

I did the fork seal replacement with refering both, the slugs how to and service manual.
Things went fine until I needed to install those fork caps.
I don't understand that part where you set the locknut 12mm from the damper "pipe".
Ok I understand the instructions, but the rebound damping screw doesnt have full adjusting range if I set that 12mm gap.
So this is what I did.. First screwed that locknut on the damper, all the way down, then I turned the rebound screw all the way down and 1 click back.
Then I turned the fork cap on the damper rod, as far as I could with my hands. Then the locknut up to the fork cap.
And now the rebound adjusting SEEMS to work correctly. I'm still conserned cause I didn't follow the manual with this.

So are there something wrong with my forks? Or how you ppl have done this? Or had any problems?

You did it correctly... the manual method of measuring doesn't really work correctly...

Great! Thanks!

This would be a nice addition to the fork seal how to.

I had the same issue with the rebound damping after having fork seals replaced.
It would only allow a few clicks of the adjuster.  I ended up doing the same as in post #1, and the thread measurement ended up being more like 8mm rather than 12mm.  That gave me back full range of the adjuster.

I'm quite surprised more people here have not reported having an issue with the adjustment.
